The cost of MultiChoice Nigeria’s DStv decoder has been reduced by 50%, from ₦20,000 to ₦10,000.
The corporation declared that the action was intended to increase consumer traffic and stop the decline in subscriptions.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company’s CEO, John Ugbe, said that the offer was a means of thanking devoted customers and providing members with more value.
“We want to ensure our customers feel appreciated and have access to the best entertainment every day. The ‘We Got You’ campaign is about making premium content more accessible and showing that DStv offers something for everyone, not just football fans.
“By repositioning itself as a platform for daily value, DStv aims to encourage content discovery across a wider array of genres, including movies, drama, kids’ programming, and news.
“This means more channels, more shows, and more reasons to tune in every day,” the statement added.
Additionally, when customers pay for their current plan in full between June 16 and July 31, 2025, the firm will provide them a free upgrade to the next DStv package tier.

The free upgrade program is a reaction “to the noticeable economic impact on the everyday lives of Nigerians,” while Multichoice kept the price reduction.
This followed a 1.4 million subscriber loss from March 2023 to March 2025.
It should be noted that MultiChoice Nigeria raised the pricing of its DStv and GOtv bundles three times in 12 months: in April 2023, November 2023, and April 2024. The third rise went into effect on May 1.
