It’s that time of the year again, when Celebrity Fashion Weekend 2025 gears up to celebrate culture, trade and fashion amongst youths in Edo State.
Organised by Campus Models Worldwide, the event will take centre stage at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub on July 5th. This event is geared at gathering fashion enthusiasts, creative professionals, and business stakeholders under the powerful theme “Ákùgbé – The Power of Collaboration.” Which means UNITY in the Bini language.
Benin City’s local economy is expected to see a significant boost as the event, which welcomes hundreds of visitors, vendors, and exhibitors from across Nigeria. This ranges from hotel bookings and food vendors to transport services and local artisans. The trade fair and fashion showcase will stimulate small business activities, creating short-term jobs and long-term opportunities for growth.
“The goal is not just to entertain, but to create a ripple effect of economic benefit,” noted a spokesperson from the organising team.

“We want to empower small businesses, give student entrepreneurs a platform, and bridge the gap between talent and opportunity.”
The choice of the Bini word Ákùgbé reflects a deliberate embrace of local language and identity. This underscores the importance of unity among indigenous designers through fashion and the creative space. Designers are expected to present collections that reflect African heritage, with models styled in looks that blend modern creativity with ancestral pride.
The fashion show will also incorporate music, spoken word, and live artistic performances. The plan is to give guests an immersive cultural experience that goes beyond the runway.
