The 379,997 impacted applicants are now being rescheduled for another Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the examination body’s registrar, announced the rescheduling during a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, and it started Thursday morning.
Oloyede acknowledged that there were mistakes in the recently finished test that affected 206,610 students in 65 locations in Lagos and 92 locations in the Owerri zone, totalling 173,387 candidates throughout the five South East states.

He also said, “The affected candidates will start getting text messages for rescheduling starting from tomorrow.

“I apologise, I take full responsibility.”
However, in the reprinted exam slip sighted by our correspondent, one of the affected candidates has been rescheduled to take her exam on Saturday, May 17, 2025 by 12noon in one of the Lagos centres in Igando community situated at the Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.
