The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has invited popular Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo over alleged abuse of the naira at her daughter’s wedding.
Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Jux got married in Nigeria on April 17, 2025. It came after their Islamic wedding in Tanzania in February.
The wedding was the most talked-about ceremony on the internet. At the event were both Nigerian and foreign celebrities.
Guests were captured at the lavish wedding spraying dollar bills and Naira notes.
However, addressing the viral speculations about her encounter with the EFCC after the ceremony, Iyabo Ojo explained that she was interrogated after honouring the agency’s invitation.
Ojo, in a post on her Instagram page, said:
“I was asked questions relating to my personal biodata, career, work experience, and my companies, amongst others.”
“I was asked if I knew this was illegal, and I explained that I only thought abuse or mutilation of naira was an offense.”

“The EFCC clarified that spraying money on people’s bodies is prohibited. I was surprised to learn that spraying any currency, including dollars, is also not allowed.”
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has lawful powers to hold VeryDarkMan (VDM) over allegations of financial crimes raised against him.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale who made this disclosure on Tuesday in Abuja. He confirmed that the appropriate remand order was obtained against Martin, adding that he had been offered administrative bail and would be released after fulfilling all the bail conditions.
“The EFCC has a lawful right to hold Otse in custody like any other suspect being investigated by the Commission. The appropriate Remand Order was obtained in this regard. He has been offered an administrative bail and would be released after fulfilling all the bail conditions,” Oyewale said.
