The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) had mistakes, which the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has acknowledged.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Board’s Registrar, said this at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.
“What should have been a moment of joy has changed due to one or two errors,” Oloyede said.

According to him, “we set all machineries in order, regardless, there were still errors.”

This comes after JAMB acknowledged receiving an abnormally high volume of complaints about disparities in candidates’ test results.
This followed news of subpar results from the just finished UTME.
The board had committed to implementing the necessary corrective actions as soon as any issues were found.
The 2025 UTME results saw 78 per cent of candidates score less than 200 of the 400 maximum obtainable points.
