Despite the high level of security in the region, suspected herdsmen killed nine farmers in two communities in Benue State on Friday afternoon.
The attacks took place in Jato-Acka, Kwande Local Government Area, and Ayilamo, which is in the Tombo ward of Logo Local Government Area.

Six locals were immediately slain.
The attackers later moved to Ayilamo through the Ikyungwa axis, where they killed three more people, including an officer of the state’s Livestock Guard.
