The Bishop of the Diocese of Sapele Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Blessing Avbenayari Erifeta has taken the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa to the cleaners, in a leaked Whatsapp message exclusively obtained by The Union Nigeria.

In the Whatsapp group meant for only Knights of the diocese, Erifeta disclosed that “Unlike the core North where the Governors are majorly muslims, we have Governors who claim they are Christians. Unfortunately they have showcased in several ways that they are far from what they claim and profess”.

Lambasting Okowa, the man of God wondered why “the so called governors who claim to be Christians now mortgage the future of the suffering masses through subtle sale of properties to themselves.

“They have played down the security challenges for reasons we cannot see other than for their selfish political ambitions that has turned them to political almajiris to Emirs and Northern politicians.

“It could be fear of been (sic) probe for their corrupt practices, hence they celebrate but crafty play own of the Fulani herdsmen killing their people to their watch. Shame on you”.

The angry Bishop noted that the country has never witnessed the kind of killing going on in the South South until now. “You are watching the people who voted you into power being killed on daily basis and you keep coming up with vague excuses.

Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State Governor

“The states in South South have never in the history of Nigeria witnessed the type of killing going on today. For example, the killings that has taken so many lives in Ughelli and Sapele part of Delta is enough for the Governor to wake up to his responsibility as the chief security officer of Delta State, but he is busy establishing and signing bills for more universities  and sale of Asaba airport as if that is the problem of Deltans”.

He faulted the establishment of the three new universities by Okowa stating that “the tertiary institutions on ground has never received better funding and development and taking to building new universities is best option.

“This is misplaced priority provoked by selfish political agenda. All Christians in politics in South South should know that whether they accept it or not, they will be held responsible for the blood of Deltans killed under their leadership”.
