Ghastly Motor Accident Claims 15 Passengers In Jigawa State

The PPRO maintained that "as a result of the accident, the said Bashir Ahmed and another Passenger in his vehicle were burnt beyond recognition".

Fifteen persons have been confirmed dead in a fatal motor accident at Acilafiya village near Karkarna, the headquarters of Yankwashi local government area of Jigawa state.

An eye witness account said the two vehicles coming from opposite directions had a head on collision as one of the vehicles went to flames burning the two occupants beyond recognition.

Confirming the accident, the Police Public Relation Officer of the command, ASP Lawal Shisu said “On 28/11/2021 at about 1730hrs, there was an accident which occured along Achilafiya and Karkarna Road, involving motor Golf with reg no. XA 361 BCH driven by one Ashura Sani ‘m’ age 35yrs old of Fago Village Sandamu LGA Katsina State and a Volvswagen Golf Wagon with reg no. FST 276 CX driven by one Bashir Ahmed ‘m’ age 25yrs old of Unguwar Tudu Village Yan kwashi LGA Jigawa State.”

The PPRO maintained that “as a result of the accident, the said Bashir Ahmed and another Passenger in his vehicle were burnt beyond recognition”.

While one Ashiru Sani, the other driver and twelve passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to PHC Hospital Karkarna for treatment but latter all died in the hospital.”
