In another operation that same day, police officers detained Jibrin Ali, a 28-year-old Nigerien, for posing as military soldiers in the bandit-prone Yankari Game Reserve.
After resisting arrest and failing to explain his strange presence in the forest, a patrol team backed by local security groups took him into custody.
Both cases have been ordered to be moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department, or SCID, for a more thorough investigation by Commissioner of Police CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu.
He assured the public of the Command’s dedication to community safety and praised the police for their alertness.
