Two fathers have been detained by Lagos State Police Command officers on suspicion of sexually abusing their daughters in two different occurrences that were reported in the Surulere and Amukoko regions of the state.
This was revealed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, at a news conference held at the command headquarters in Ikeja on Monday.
One suspect, a 39-year-old male, was arrested for allegedly defiling his two children, ages 12 and 14, in the Surulere region, according to Hundeyin.
He mentioned that the police were notified by the suspect’s wife, which led to an instant investigation and eventual arrest.

“A case of defilement was reported on April 30 in which the complainant reported on behalf of her two daughters against her husband.
He reported that the defendant was captured in the midst of sexually abusing the youngster at roughly 8:30 p.m. on the same day.
A team of detectives was sent to the location of the alleged event after the report was made, and the suspect was quickly taken into custody, according to Hundeyin.
He further mentioned that the survivor was brought to the Ajeromi General Hospital for treatment and a medical assessment.
“She alleged that her husband defiled their two daughters,” he said.
He added that a medical report had been obtained from a sexual assault referral centre to support the investigation.
Hundeyin further revealed that another suspect, a 48-year-old man, was also arrested for allegedly defiling his 16-year-old daughter in the Amukoko area of Lagos State.
