Suspected criminals from the Anfani community assaulted Aliyu Mohammed and his wife on their property in Kashikoko village, Lavun Local Government Area, Niger state, resulting in a violent incident.
It was discovered that a long-standing farming conflict was at the centre of the Friday incident.
Additionally, it was revealed that the pair was severely beaten by the criminals, resulting in injuries to the woman and the husband’s kidnapping to an unidentified place.

SP Wasiu Abiodun, the state police public relations officer, confirmed the occurrence and stated that a report on the incident was received on May 16, 2025, at around 6 p.m.

He clarified that according to the report, a 42-year-old man named Aliyu Mohammed and his wife, who lived in Kashikoko village via Doko, Lavun LGA, were attacked on their farm at around 12 p.m. on the same day by suspected criminals from the Anfani community via Doko because of a persistent farmland dispute.
“The wife was reportedly beaten and injured, while the husband was abducted to an unknown destination,” he stated.
Abiodun said that the police had encouraged the village chief and the young leaders to work with them in order to take the required steps to rescue the victim, make an arrest, and bring charges.
The public will be informed of any new developments as the investigation continues.
