Former House of Representatives member Nicholas Ukachukwu has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s ticket for governor of Anambra.
At Saturday’s party primary poll, Ukachukwu easily defeated Valentine Ozigbo, his closest opponent, and other candidates to secure the ticket.
Ozigbo received 67 votes, while he received 1,455 votes. Johnbosco Onunkwo received 26 votes, while Edozie Madu received 8.
The election for governor of Anambra is scheduled for November 8, 2025.

Following his win, Ukachukwu promised to turn the state over to the APC.
“We shall deliver Anambra to the APC. One thing I want to say here — nobody has won the governorship of Anambra without my support; it has never happened before,” he said.
