Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has disclosed the specifics of the discussion he had with Siminalayi Fubara, his estranged political godson, who came to plead for reconciliation.
Wike said that two governors from the governing All Progressives Congress, or APC, joined the suspended governor on his visit to make a peace plea.
Wike said at a Monday media event that he informed the troubled governor that he (Fubara) could not broker a settlement.

The minister asserts that while his followers are acting in a different way, the governor cannot be pursuing peace.

“I told him (Fubara) I don’t think you have the capacity to really make this peace. It’s not easy; if you’re making peace, your people are demonstrating every day.
“If you are making peace, your people are busy on television insulting people,” Wike said.
The Intercept reports that Fubara had on Sunday cautioned his supporters to deviate from actions that could hinder the peace he is pursuing.
