Former Cameroonian international and Barcelona hitman, Samuel Eto’o has emerged as the new President of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot).

The former African footballer of the year polled 43 votes to defeat his closet rival and the incumbent President who garnered 31 votes on Saturday.

Before Saturday’s win, the former Inter player defeated Seidou Mbombo Njoya, who was elected in 2018, but his election was contested by several actors of Cameroonian soccer and cancelled in mid-January by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Meanwhile, his first point of duty will be in January, as Cameroon will play host to the African Cup of Nations from January 9 to February 7, 2022.
