A Nigerian gospel singer, Asu Ekiye, has announced the dissolution of his 28-year union with Kunemofa Asu.
The artist, who was born in Bayelsa State and is well-known as the “Prince of the Niger Delta,” announced on his Facebook page on Thursday in a post titled “Public Notice.”
He characterised the marriage as a very intimate process of development, learning, and introspection.

The singer stated that the marriage ended a year ago, but she did not reveal the reason for the split.
He said, “I wish to announce, with a profound sense of sobriety and quiet resignation, that my marriage to KUNEMOFA ASU has come to an end, while looking ahead to the possibilities of a new season.
“This marriage ended a year ago. I have deliberately chosen to make this announcement only now, after allowing time to bring the perspective, clarity and quiet acceptance that such a deeply personal transition deserves.”

Famous Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, and filmmaker has explained why he stopped going to church after his divorce.
The comedian stated in a video posted on his social media page on Sunday that he stopped attending church because of the public scrutiny he had to deal with after his divorce, not because he lost his religion.
He clarified that although he occasionally worships online, he decided to withdraw from church because he didn’t want to be the focus of rumours.
“For some time now, I stopped attending church not because I stopped believing in God or lost my faith. I was actually navigating a very personal season: the negative narrative put out on the blogs against me.
“So, I chose to step back quietly. Part of that decision was because I didn’t want to become the subject of whispered conversations,” AY explained.
The comedian stated that after finding another church and beginning to worship there, he became disappointed once more after being kicked out of a program for which he had been previously scheduled because the church indicated they were “worried about public perception.”
