Popular Nigerian singer, Folarin Falana, aka Falz, has sparked controversy on social media after saying that fornication is not a sin.
Falz had in a post on X, said “Fornication is not a sin”.
His statement, which challenges widely accepted Christian teachings, quickly ignited backlash from netizens, especially from religious users who cited different biblical passages to counter his assertion.
The rapper was further accused of promoting immorality and values contrary to Christian faith, as the debate continues to spark discussions on the intersection of celebrity influence, faith, and personal belief.
Some of the comments condemned Falz’s claim, referring to Biblical beliefs.

Speaking with media personality Chude Jideonwo at the WithChude Live event, Falz revealed that he has never been in love or experienced heartbreak.
The 34-year-old artist said he is still single because he hasn’t found anybody who “likes me”.
Falz also admitted he has never told anyone “I love you” in a romantic sense, although he has expressed strong feelings of affection.

“I’ve not found anybody who likes me. In all sincerity, it’s incredibly tough to have a healthy, loving family life and be in entertainment,” he said.
“Not knowing how to navigate that coupled with feeling like I don’t want to scatter things as resulted in me staying away.
“Some people would say I’m running away from commitment but it’s one thing to know you’re not prepared for commitment and it’s another thing to deceive yourself and mess things up for yourself and the other person. It’s me just being conscious.

Born Folarin Falana, Falz has established himself as a household name in Nigerian music since his career began in 2009.
He has also earned a plethora of awards and nominations for his craft.
In July 2024, the rapper revealed that Fela Kuti, Plantashun Boiz and Trybesmen influenced him to do socially conscious music.
