Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama G, has stated that it is improper for parents to shield their kids from suffering and labour.
She claims that keeping a youngster from going through difficult times or putting in a lot of effort is the quickest way to damage their life.
In a recent interview with media personality Femi Baba, Mama G recounted that she had previously forced her son out of the house so he could go out and support himself.

She said, “The fastest way to ruin a child’s life is to say you don’t want them to suffer the way you did.
“When you’re gone, they may start fighting over your property. I told my son, ‘My house isn’t yours. Go and work for your own.’”
Ozokwor explained that because she raised her children with discipline and hard work, they were doing well.
The movie icon urged parents not to deny their children the experience of struggle and hard work out of love.

Earlier this month, Patience Ozokwor revealed why she plays the villain on screen. The actress made the revelation during a livestream session hosted by Carter Efe.
In the interview, Ozokwor responded to questions from the public regarding her frequent appearances as these characters in Nollywood films.
”I think God gave me that niche. I hate every ill because I don’t like injustice, war, and rancour. When you give me those roles, I try to bring everything into them.
“If you are taking part in any of them, you have to be careful and know the end thereof, for the end justifies the means. Know what will happen to you if you live a terrible life, and know what you will gain if you are a good person,” she explained.
The actor claims that her performances were skilfully designed to highlight the negative effects of misbehaviour.
She presented the depictions of villainy as a storytelling tool for social education.
