Nollywood actress, Queeneth Hilbert has filed a lawsuit seeking protection from arrest and detention from the inspector-general of police. Kayode Egbetokun.

The actress shared documents of the fundamental human rights suit filed at the federal high court in Lagos on Instagram.

In the suit dated March 10, she alleged that the police attempted to arrest her at the instigation of Destiny Etiko, her colleague.

She described the police’s alleged actions as an “illegal, unlawful and flagrant” violation of her constitutional rights, asking for a court declaration against it.

Queeneth also demanded a court injunction preventing the police from arresting, interrogating or detaining her as regards the video she posted on her IG page on March 7.

The actress is also seeking N100 million in damages for “unlawful invasion,” restriction of her movement, and attempted arrest.

“Order of perpetual injunction restraining all police officers under the control and command of the 1 Respondent or any Commissioner of Police of any states of the federation or any other Law Enforcement Agency from arresting, interrogating and detaining the Applicant in respect of the statement made against the 2 Respondent on her Instagram handle,”

she said.

The controversy started when Queeneth Hilbert accused Destiny of snatching the wealthy lovers of their other colleagues, describing her as a “manipulator”.

“It has come to my notice that Destiny Etiko thinks it is all about running around and unfollowing me. I need her to understand that this thing started from Cubana Babes, on the set of Elitific Productions, Ken Steve Anukah directed it.

On that movie set, my ex Tony who drives a Benz comes from Benin, I know how long he sleeps with you. And a whole lot. The story is long and not even the first or the second time. You who claim to be my friend are even killing me behind. You break leg con dey open leg for my man. You run from Asaba because you know that a lot of people are waiting to beat you up.

She’s always used to snatching anybody that is close to you or comes around you that she feels is okay and funding your bills, she go dey try to snatch am, just like my ex. I’m fucking coming for you one million times, and this is not ending anytime soon.

Destiny, who denied the allegations, served Queeneth with a pre-action notice for alleged defamation, seeking a retraction, apology, and N100 million for damages.
