The Lagos State High Court granted social media personality Scott Iguma bail on Monday, 21st July 2025.
This came three days after Scott was remanded to prison.
Scott had called out a popular real estate company, PWAN, for defrauding customers last Monday.
While submitting over 130 petitions from victims to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Scott accused PWAN of selling receipts to the people instead of land.
On Thursday, he was arrested for defamation by Augustine Onwumere, founder of PWAN.
The court remanded him to prison on Friday morning.

The development sparked controversy across social media platforms, with many of his colleagues and associates, including Tunde Ednut, VeryDarkMan, Stanley Ontop, and singer Kokopee, calling out the Nigeria Police and PWAN.

However, in a video shared on his page, singer Kokopee announced that Scott has been granted bail.
He said
“After the hearing, the judge has granted Scott Iguma bail. His legal team are currently working round the clock to make sure all bail conditions are met. One thing I must tell Nigerians is that we can not be silent when it looks like oppression is around the corner. Injustice for one is injustice to all.
“PWAN be warned, if you say you are innocent , come forward with proof”.

In March, veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle claimed that the real estate industry has become a cover for financial crimes in Nigeria.
He alleged that real estate is the country’s leading form of money laundering. He made the allegations in a recent interview on Echo Room, hosted by Quincy Jones.
Patrick Doyle said,
“If you go to Abuja and many estates in the Lekki corridor, you will see plenty of houses completed and uninhabited. So, if it’s the prices that are too high, how come people are still building and they are not being occupied? That should tell you something.
It’s funny because real estate has become one of the leading forms of money laundering. A lot of it is illegal money finding expression in the construction industry.
