Social critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has said that he will temporarily stop using all social media sites.
He clarified that the move was made in response to claims that his content had been preventing young Nigerians from holding the government responsible.
VDM stated in a video that was uploaded to his Instagram account that his choice was made to free up young Nigerians to concentrate entirely on protests and civic duty.
“Because of the allegations and accusations that it is my posts that have been distracting the Nigerian youths from holding the government accountable, I have decided to not post again on social media during this period,” he said.

He challenged other influencers, celebrities, and activists to take over the space during his absence, adding, “I would expect all influencers and celebrities and activists to use this opportunity to take over let’s watch and see.”

“I’ve made my decision that from today I am not going to be making any post on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube everywhere.
“I am going to leave you people, I am going to give you people time. That’s why I am not going to be posting.
“All the protest you want to do, everything that you want to do to hold the government accountable, VeryDarkMan is going to be taking a back stage,” he added.
Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, aka Blord, was sent back to Kuje prison shortly after being granted bail on Friday.
Social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, made the revelation.
After serving at least two weeks at Kuje prison for allegedly impersonating VDM, Blord was given bail.
In a video he shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, VDM discussed the situation and stated that the businessman was unable to meet the requirements of his release.
Blord would stay behind bars until he could provide the court-mandated international passport, according to VDM.
He said, “I’m very happy that BLord was granted bail but unfortunately for him, he had to be taken back to the Kuje correctional center until Monday because he could not perfect his bail condition.
