Nollywood actor and businessman Solomon Akiyesi has passed away.
Abubakar Yakubu, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), confirmed the sad event on Monday.
Yakubu claims that Akiyesi passed away on Sunday while sleeping. The actor’s body has already been placed in an Abuja mortuary, he continued.
Additionally, Yakubu revealed that the guild is currently expecting additional information from the actor’s family regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
“Yes, it is true. He died yesterday. He slept and did not wake up. We await further details from the family.
“His body is in the morgue in Abuja, where the sad incident happened,” Yakubu told TheCable Lifestyle.
Born in Edo State, specifically the Akoko-Edo/Ososo area, Solomon Akiyesi was active in Nollywood for many years and appeared in several films.
He featured in movies including Heart of a Saint, Desperate Ladies, Pretty Liars, and Bridge of Contract.

His death has come as a shock to Nigerians, with some expressing disbelief as tributes begin to pour in following the tragic news.
Phyna, a former Big Brother Naija reality show housemate, has declared that she does not envision herself getting married or having kids.
This was disclosed by Phyna, who also expressed her wish to avoid having biological children.
Speaking in a social media video that went viral, Phyna connected her desire to be unmarried and avoid having children to her repeated heartbreaks.
Despite being fertile, the reality star, who revealed that she is now emotionally bonded to animals, preferred being a pet mum to becoming a mother.
“After all, I don’t even want to have a child. I’m very fertile, but I just want to be a cat and dog mom. I think the love for animals in women kicks in when we’re approaching our 30s.
“Especially when you don’t see yourself settling down or maybe you’ve been into so many broken relationships. I think I’m at that stage right now”, she said.
