After a coordinated operation in the Kawo region of Kaduna State, 27 people have been taken into custody by the Kaduna State Police Command.
The Department of State Services (DSS), local hunting organisations, and the military worked together to carry out the operation in the early hours of June 8, 2025.
The police found blades, axes, some narcotics, especially marijuana, and other illicit things, according to DSP Mansir Hassan, spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command.
The state’s zero-tolerance policy against crime was reaffirmed by Commissioner of Police CP Rabiu Muhammad, who also commended the security actors’ collaboration during the raid.

He emphasized that the raid was designed to disrupt criminal elements operating in Kaduna.
“Kaduna State is a peaceful state, and we want to keep it as a peaceful state. Criminals will not disrupt the peace of our communities,” he said.
He urged anyone contemplating criminal activities to reconsider, insisting that Kaduna State is too small for criminality and that there is no safe haven for criminal elements in the state.
