Four alleged thieves who broke into houses and stole goods at the Peace and Joy community, which is located off Airport Road in Oba Ile, have been taken into custody by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ (NSCDC) Ondo State Command.
The arrests were prompted by a complaint from a homeowner who returned from church on Sunday, July 9, 2025, to find her home broken into, according to a statement released by DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, the Command’s Public Relations Officer.

The perpetrators were apprehended when NSCDC agents used tracking technology on the SIM card of an Apple iPad that had been taken during the event. James Emmanuel Reuben, a 23-year-old student, Monday Reuben, a 19-year-old student, Japason Joshua, a 21-year-old farmer from Gombe State, and Lucas Joshua, a 23-year-old farmer from Gombe State, were the individuals who were detained.
James Emmanuel, a “soft target,” complied with detectives and helped capture the other suspects, according to Aidamenbor. According to legal counsel, he has been released on bond pending the conclusion of the inquiry.
Items recovered from the suspects included the stolen iPad, household appliances, food items, and clothing belonging to the complainant. Preliminary findings also revealed that the group had been linked to a series of similar break-ins in the area.
The Corps called on members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, noting that community involvement plays a crucial role in reducing crime across the state.
