The Abia State Police Command rescued twelve children from various areas in Abia State, couple Sunday and Blessing Emebo.
The pair was arrested on May 19, 2025, at an alleged unregistered, unlawful motherless infants home at their flat on Ikot Ekpene road in Aba, according to DSP Maureen Chinaka, the spokesperson for the Abia State Police Command.
She noted that the ages of the recovered children ranged from six to fourteen months, and that the Police Command’s reliable intelligence enabled the arrest of the couple and the rescue of the twelve children.

DSP Chinaka also disclosed that the arrested couple, Sunday Emebo and his wife, Blessing Emebo, are presently being interrogated at State Criminal Investigation Department, CID, and would soon be arraigned in court after investigations.
She further said that the rescued children have been safely handed over to the Abia State Ministry of Women Affairs.

While saying that Abia State Police Command was committed to ensuring the reduction of crime and criminality in the State, the Command advised the public to stay security-conscious and ensure that no child should be with left with unfamiliar persons.
