Constable Idris Oloyede of the Nigerian Police Force in Ogun State was detained on suspicion of conspiracy, theft, cybercrime, and other connected offences.
This was revealed on Friday by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist specialising in the Lake Chad area, in a post on X.
Makama claimed to have received accurate information from intelligence sources indicating that members of the State Criminal Investigation Department’s (SCID) Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Eleweran, Abeokuta, arrested on Wednesday.
The security expert claims that Oloyede, who is assigned to the patrol team at Odeda Divisional Headquarters, is identified by his Force Number, 537972.

Makama said his arrest followed credible intelligence and investigation that linked the officer to the suspected crimes.
“The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Odeda Division immediately released the officer for further interrogation upon the arrival of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
“The suspect has been transferred to the SCID for detailed investigation,” he added.
