Former President Goodluck Jonathan would run for office again in 2027, according to Professor Jerry Gana, the former Minister of Information and Orientation.
Speaking to reporters in Minna, the capital of Niger State, Gana said this.
He claims that Jonathan will run as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) flagbearer in the upcoming presidential election.
He claimed that Nigerians were eager for Jonathan to return since they had lived under two presidents after him.

“In 2015, former President Goodluck Jonathan said his ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians,” Gana said.
“After him, another President ruled for eight years, and now another has ruled for two years.

“Nigerians have seen the difference, and the difference is very clear. Nigerians are now asking us to bring back our friend, former President Goodluck Jonathan.
“I can confirm that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will contest the presidential election in 2027 as PDP candidate, and we should be prepared to vote for him to return as President again,” he added.
Goodluck Jonathan emphasised the value of forgiveness and letting go, especially in politics, to foster national unity and progress.
Jonathan spoke those things on Wednesday night at the late Chief Audu Ogbeh’s funeral liturgy in Abuja.
He paid his final respects to the older statesman, well-known politician, and farmer with his family, friends, and allies.
Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan’s special adviser, released a statement that included his remarks.
The former president reflected Ogbeh’s philosophy of life in his eulogy, describing him as a humble and merciful leader who never harboured resentment.
“Chief Ogbeh was a man who did not seek revenge. He believed the past should be left behind and that we must keep moving forward,” Dr. Jonathan said. “In that sense, he was just like me. If you hurt me today, I will forgive you. I don’t carry grudges against people. I believe the past is past—and I move on.”
