Group Attacks Kano State Govt For Withholding Family Planning Project Funds

Halima Ben Umar pointed out that children and women are the most Vulnerable part of society explaining that the proportion of child mortality in the state is increasing at alarming rate.

A Coalition of Development Research and Project Center has expressed dissatisfaction over failure of Kano State Government to release fund for Family Planning Project in 2020 budget.

The Chairperson of the group, Hajiya Halima Ben Umar gave the assertion when she led the Coalition on courtesy visit to Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Abdulaziz Garba Gafasa at the house.

She reminded the state government on the significance of Child Healthcare processes, while calling on the Government to make a proper provision of Child HealthCare and Family Planning Project in 2021 Appropriation Bill.

Halima Ben Umar pointed out that children and women are the most Vulnerable part of society explaining that the proportion of child mortality in the state is increasing at alarming rate.

The Chairperson of the Group lamented that the call to improve Family Planning Project in Kano can never be underestimated for the state to achieved State Development Goals.

Hajiya Halima Ben Umar also commended State Government for its quick intervention in health and education sectors of the state and appealed for more provision on children and women welfare programmes.

Responding the speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Abdulaziz Garba Gafasa assured that Members of the House will do its best for the recommendation and observations made by the Coalition in budget and release of Funds for betterment of Child Healthcare and women Programmes in Kano State.
