Seventy-four alleged online scammers have been taken into custody by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission agents in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
After reliable intelligence connected the suspects to crimes involving the internet, they were captured on Monday at the Joyous Hotel in Nyanya, a suburb of the capital city.
In a statement, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said that three motorbikes, 86 cell phones, and a rifle gun were found during the investigation.
Oyewale added that the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
The statement read, “Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 74 suspected internet fraudsters.

“They were arrested on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Joyous Hotel, Nyanya in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences.
“Items recovered from them include 86 phones, one rifle pistol and three motorcycles. They will be charged to court soon.”
