Manchester City have suffered their third consecutive defeat in the English Premier League following tonight’s loss to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground during the league’s Matchday 10 fixtures.
The Enzo Maresca-led side, who started the season with a six-match winning streak, have seen things take a different turn after suffering defeats to Aston Villa, Brighton and now Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest took the lead in the 6th minute through Cunha’s effort. They doubled their advantage in the 17th minute to go 2-0 ahead of the Cityzens. In the second half, Ryan Cherki helped his side pull one back in the 52nd minute to make it 2-1.
Forest were not done inflicting more pain on Maresca and his boys, as Delap completed a brace with another goal in the 73rd minute to extend their lead to 3-1, securing all three points at home.
Arsenal had recorded a slim 1-0 victory over Hull City earlier today to move six points clear. This means the Gunners’ six-point lead is now confirmed.
Should Brighton wins their game in hand tomorrow, they will push City out of second place. Meanwhile, this is an important victory for Nottingham Forest, who have now moved further away from the relegation zone.
