Abigail Victor, 23, was hauled before a Kaduna Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on charges of using a knife to attack her lover.
Abigail is charged with two counts of conspiracy and inflicting hurt. She lives in Ungwan Sunday, Kaduna.
Inspector Chidi Leo, the prosecutor, informed the court that the defendant committed the offences in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, on May 17.
According to Leo, Abigail and two other fugitives planned to beat her lover, Dominic James, then stab him in the shoulder with a knife.
According to him, the complainant accused the defendant of cheating on her after they had a quarrel.
“In the process, she called two of her friends who came to the complainant’s house, beat him up and stabbed him.
“It took the intervention of neighbours who came to the aid of the complainant and rushed him to a hospital.
“The offences contravene Sections 58 and 284 of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.

“Section 58 attracts a one-year prison term if found guilty, while Section 284 attracts a prison term of not less than five years if found guilty,” he said.
Abigail entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.
Ibrahim Emmanuel, the magistrate, gave the defendant N200,000 in bail and one surety, the same amount.
According to him, the surety needs to be related to the defendant by blood and provide proof of three years of Kaduna State Government tax clearance.
Emmanuel postponed the hearing until June 17.
