According to reports, Mercy Johnson has arrested and detained her co-actress, Angela Okorie, for cyberbullying.
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Angela was reportedly taken into custody at her Lagos home by members of the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.
Journalist and founder of BON Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, disclosed on Wednesday. While explaining that Angela spent the night at Yaba, Panti police station, before being transported to Abuja very early on Wednesday, Oloketuyi wrote on his Instagram page: “Angela Okorie was arrested yesterday at her Lagos residence by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre, Abuja.
“She was put on 6am flight to Abuja this morning to face court proceedings connected to cybercrime matter involving Mercy Johnson.”
The development came exactly a week after Mercy Johnson announced that cyberbullying her and her family won’t be business as usual in 2026.

InnJune 2025, there was a war of words between actresses Regina Daniels and Angela Okorie on social media.
The social media war started when Angela Okorie took to her Instagram to allege that her archenemy, Mercy Johnson, is sick.
She stated that her spiritual father had told her to forgive the actress, stating that indeed she has done that and moved past their squabbles.
It is still not clear what would have caused this beef between the two actresses, but Angela had alleged that Mercy went spiritual on her
Meanwhile, Regina Daniels, who is known to love Mercy and support her, took to her page to reply to Angela Okorie
She wrote, and we quote:
“I’m sorry and with all due respect Aunty Angella you dey m@d! Abeg no forgive because for this side, we no dey forgive.”
She further added that Angela should not forget Mercy Johnson is a mother and warned her to stop explaining herself unnecessarily.
The video clip of Angela’s live and Regina’s response has since gone viral across social media platforms.
