A doctor named Alex was shot and killed at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) in Benin, the capital of Edo State.
According to information our correspondent obtained yesterday, Alex of the tertiary medical facility’s physiotherapy department was assaulted by gunmen, causing patients to flee for their lives and other medical staff to flee as well.
Numerous UBTH medical staff members have protested against the incident.
Joshua Uwaila, the public relations officer at UBTH, confirmed the murder and stated that the hospital’s management had notified the security services about the occurrence and were awaiting their conclusions.

Additionally, an articulated truck on the Benin-Lagos Motorway killed two members of a vigilance group outside the entrance of the University of Benin’s (UNIBEN) major campus in Ugbowo.
According to witnesses, the disaster happened yesterday at noon when the vehicle struck the two vigilance members who were on a motorbike, crushing their heads. A mortuary in Benin received their remains.
