A mother was detained by the police in Isiokolo, Ethiope-East Local Government Area, Delta State, for fatally whipping her one-year-old son with a cane.

Kokori village is where the event took place.

It was revealed that the child was flogged so severely that he was unable to withstand the woman’s abuse.

The mother is being accused of transferring animosity on the innocent youngster by the locals and neighbours, who characterised her as a disgruntled woman.

After the child’s father, a suspected online scammer, denied being responsible for her pregnancy, the woman reportedly grew irate. Until she gave birth, the lady had to endure the burden of her pregnancy alone.

Sources claim that the woman becomes upset whenever she sees the child because she recalls the abuse she received from the father, the alleged Yahoo boy.

It was revealed that the woman used her fury on the boy on that tragic day, flogging him to death even though he had done nothing wrong.

The youngster passed away before the neighbours could get him to the hospital, therefore their attempts to save him were unsuccessful.
