Members of the State House of Assembly, suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike have all been reunited by President Bola Tinubu.
According to The Intercept, Tinubu and the resentful parties met late last night at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, which resulted in the crisis’s settlement.
The FCT Minister, Fubara, and the legislators had previously met before the meeting with the president.
In a tweet on his X account on Friday, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the situation.

Onanuga said Tinubu demonstrated he wanted peace for Rivers State.
He said: “Rivers’ peace talks in pictures:
“President Tinubu has demonstrated once again that he wants peace for Rivers State. Just like he brought together the political gladiators to sign a peace deal in December 2023, he repeated the same on Thursday night, three months after he imposed the March 18 state of emergency.
“FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and House Speaker Martins Chike Amaewhule all took part in the peace talks at the Villa.”
A source had earlier informed The Intercept that the meeting with the President is to intimate him that the crisis has been resolved.
“From the body language after the meeting with the President I can tell you that they (Wike, Fubara and the Lawmakers) have resolved their differences,” he said.
The Intercept recalls that Wike and Fubara have been caught up in crisis over the control of Rivers State.
However, the President on March 18 declared a State of Emergency in Rivers State after he claimed the situation threatened security of lives and properties.
Tinubu also suspended Fubara, his deputy, Mrs Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the House of Assembly.
He went further and nominated Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (Rtd) as Administrator to take charge of the State.
