The governor of Kaduna, Uba Sani, has denounced the state’s citizens being killed by a mob in the Mangun District of Mangu LGA, Plateau state.
A crowd attacked a commercial bus carrying wedding guests on their way from Zaria, Kaduna, to Quan Pan LGA in Plateau for the event on Friday, killing twelve persons.
The attack injured eleven additional wedding attendees in varying degrees.
The governor responded to the tragedy by calling the murder an “act of savagery.”
He stated that “this madness must stop” and urged security services to look into the killings.
“We must put a stop to the nefarious activities of non-state actors. There is no justification for anybody to attack any citizen of Nigeria in any part of the country. This madness must stop. Enough is enough,” the governor said.

Sani also urged Caleb Mutfwang, governor of Plateau, to “use this unfortunate incident to make a bold statement”.
“He must take full charge of the situation and direct the operations of the security agencies until the murderers are brought to justice,” the Kaduna governor said.

“I will personally follow up on the progress made in the investigations and field operations in search of the criminals. We must send a clear signal that impunity will no longer be tolerated.”
Sani advised Kaduna residents to remain calm, adding that “all our murdered citizens will get justice”.
