In separate operations in Kaduna and Plateau States, troops from the 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven apprehended a suspected bandit and retrieved weapons and ammunition.
The suspect was taken into custody on June 15 in Katsit hamlet, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State, according to counterinsurgency specialist Zagazola Makama.
He was allegedly posing as a soldier to rob unwary individuals while wearing military combat camouflage.
An AK-47 gun, an AK-47 magazine, three rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, seven spent 7.62mm shells, a phoney vigilante ID card, a cell phone, and two ATM cards were among the identifiable goods found on the suspect.

The suspect is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
In a separate operation by troops in the early hours of June 16, they were successful in raiding a suspected deadly syndicate’s hideout in Kwanar Lauje, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Even though the suspect and his accomplice escaped before troops arrived, they recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine for an AK-47, a rifle butt, 300 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, a 9mm round, two 12.7mm rounds and an abandoned motorcycle.
All weapons and materials recovered have been maintained in military custody, as follow-up operations are ongoing to apprehend the criminals
