Famous Kano TikToker Murja Kunya will be serving a six-month sentence for Naira abuse. A Federal High Court sitting in Kano delivered the sentence.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kano Directorate, on Wednesday secured the conviction and sentencing of the social media influencer before Justice Simone Amobeda of the Kano Federal High Court.

Kunya was arrested for allegedly spraying Naira notes during her stay in a hotel room at Tahir Guest Palace in Kano.

TikTokers, Ahmad Isa and Maryam Musa, both residents of Ladainai in Hotoro Quarters, were arrested by the Kano State Censorship Board and subsequently arraigned before the court.

The prosecution, led by state counsel Barr. Garzali Maigari Bichi, charged them with criminal conspiracy and the distribution of illicit content on social media. Both defendants pleaded guilty.

Presiding over the case, Justice Hadiza Muhammad Hassan handed down the sentence and urged the convicts to uphold good conduct.
