As the party gets ready for its next National Executive Committee meeting, the Peoples Democratic Party leadership and representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission are now meeting behind closed doors in Abuja on Tuesday.
Following a news conference at INEC headquarters, they both entered the private meeting right away.
The meeting’s key topics include internal party procedures, impending elections, and the state of the party’s leadership structure; however, specifics of the conversations are yet unknown.
Among those in attendance are PDP governors, senior INEC officials, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC chairman, and interim PDP national chairman Umar Damagum.
