At the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, prominent opposition leaders have come for a media conference of the new opposition alliance. Among them are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi.
A former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai; a former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi; Senator Dino Melaye; Solomon Dalung, a former minister of youth and sports; publisher and PDP chieftain, Dele Momodu; Senators Gabriel Suswam and Ireti Kingibe of the Labour Party; and Emeka Ihedioha, a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, are among the other prominent political figures attending the event.

Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (retd.), a former Chief of Air Staff, is also present.
Ahead of the general elections in 2027, the coalition—which includes members of the People’s Democratic Party, Labour Party, Social Democratic Party, and other political groups is gathering under the African Democratic Congress platform.

The organisation has decided to use the ADC as a political vehicle in order to run against the All Progressives Congress, which is currently in power.
As the newly appointed temporary national chairman of the ADC, David Mark, a former Senate President who just resigned from the PDP, is anticipated to host the press conference.
Rauf Aregbesola, a former governor of Osun State, has also been appointed as the coalition-backed ADC’s acting national secretary.
