Former Federal lawmaker and a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara, Abdul Malik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu has described the recent petition filed against Zamfara former Governor Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar and other APC members by Sani Abdullahi Wamban Shinkafi as mischievous and deliberate attempt to continue to fool Governor Bello Matawalle.
Bungudu described as laughable that Shinkafi who called the sitting Governor names during the 2015 general elections is now coming to the public to tell the other side of the story about Matawalle simply because he has turned his political attitude into a money making venture.
“Same Shinkafi went public to call Governor Matawalle a “thief” via video that went viral during 2015 campaign, accusing him of diverting funds meant for procurement of weapons, he has now turned around telling a different story about Matawalle and insulting others just to please the Governor over what he has done to him in the past”.
“In that same viral video, Wambai threatened to drag EFCC to court if it failed to probe Governor Matawalle for corruption, and yet he has turned his venom against Yari the former Governor”.
“Same Shinkafi accused Matawalle of not having genuine SSCE result when he embarrassed the Governor before the whole world, yet Matawalle is romancing with him”
“Unless he is able to tell the general public what has changed over his description of Matawalle as a “thief” in the another viral video, nobody would take him serious”.
“Governor Matawalle should be extra careful about Shinkafi because he would continue to hit him hard with political hammer after he leaves office”.
He described his style of politics as his own way of making money by insulting and reigning abusive words, raising baseless allegations against personalities who were in power.
“Everybody knows that Shinkafi is against the former Governor because he had refused to open the state treasury for him. It is his political strategy to always allow himself to be used as a political stooge in blackmailing prominent sons of Zamfara State but former Governor Yari chose not to go that way.
He explained that, Shinkafi picked offense and therefore continued with the blackmail of Abdulazeez Yari left, right and center.
“He has been making baseless allegations mentioning figures that common sense cannot reason. This is the same person who accused former Governor Yari of mismanaging 900 billion naira in eight years. How much has Zamfara State collected from federation account and other sources all together?” Zanna asked.
“Recall that he had addressed a Press Conference where he accused some APC members of attempting to induce bandits with 57 million naira in order to prevent them from releasing Jangebe abducted girls but when asked by the state chairman of the APC Lawal Liman on channels TV to prove his allegations by mentioning names, he became embarrassed and started beating about the bush” Zanna added.
He described Shinkafi as politically incapacitated with no relevance after the return to politics in 1999.
“Shinkafi has never won his polling unit and APGA, the party platform he has been contesting election on has never won a polling unit in Zamfara state.
He challenged Shinkafi to prove him wrong.
To buttress his argument, Zanna added that in the just concluded bye election in Bakura, APGA scored a total of 26 votes noting that if not Matawallen Maradun, who would take Shinkafi as a serious politician?
