The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a 33% increase in annual subventions for its 54 Member Associations and a further 20% increase for the CAF Zonal Unions.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe made the announcement during the CAF Strategy Conference in Sal, Cape Verde, held from October 7 to 9, 2026. <Cite refs={[“turn660200search1″,”turn660200search3”]}/>
Under the new structure, each CAF Member Association will receive up to USD 700,000 annually, while each Zonal Union will receive USD 900,000, up from USD 750,000.
The increase forms part of CAF’s commitment to making football across its 54 Member Associations world-class and self-sustaining.
In 2021, CAF Member Associations received annual subventions of USD 200,000. This amount was subsequently increased to USD 400,000, then USD 525,000, and now USD 700,000, representing a 250% increase since 2021.
The additional financial support is intended to strengthen football development structures, invest in youth and women’s football, improve administration and governance, and build sustainable programmes that create opportunities for players, coaches, referees and other football stakeholders.
Summary of the revised allocations:
– CAF Member Associations: Increased from up to USD 525,000 to up to USD 700,000 annually.
– CAF Zonal Unions: Increased from USD 750,000 to USD 900,000 annually.
– African Club Association (ACA): Increased from USD 400,000 to USD 500,000 annually.
