Tiger Woods is set to appear in court on Wednesday for a change of plea hearing following his arrest over a car crash in Florida earlier this year.
The 50-year-old golf legend was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his Land Rover in March.
According to a police incident report, Woods was travelling at high speed on a residential road when his vehicle clipped a truck while he was attempting to overtake before rolling onto its side.
Woods pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence in April but is now due back in court for a change of plea hearing.
It remains unclear what plea Woods will enter or whether he has reached a deal with prosecutors.
The police report said deputies found two hydrocodone pills, which are used to treat pain, in Woods’ pocket and noted signs of impairment. His movements were described as slow and lethargic while speaking with deputies.
The report also stated that Woods appeared to be sweating, had glassy eyes and dilated pupils.
Woods was able to crawl out of the vehicle without suffering injuries. He told a deputy that he had been looking at his phone and changing the radio station when he hit the truck.
When asked whether he had taken prescription medication, Woods replied: “I take a few.”
The 15-time major winner also told deputies that he had taken prescription drugs earlier that morning.
Woods agreed to a breathalyser test, which showed no signs of alcohol, but authorities said he refused to provide a urine sample.
Following his not-guilty plea, Woods said he was “stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment.”
Court records later showed that he travelled outside the United States to an inpatient treatment facility.
The crash was Woods’ fourth since 2009.
