Abia State based club, Abia Warriors, have distanced themselves from a viral player unveiling photo showing a new signing dressed in shorts and slippers, clarifying that the image did not originate from the club’s official media channels.
The image has circulated widely across social media, attracting widespread criticism and sparking reactions from football lovers and fans over what many believed was the club’s official unveiling of a new player.
Debunking the claims, the club explained that the photo was taken in the office of the Club Secretary during a formal contract discussion, with the player’s agent present.
According to Abia Warriors, the player independently posted the image on social media, creating the impression that it was an official unveiling by the club.
The club further stressed that the image was never intended as an official unveiling and did not originate from any of its verified social media platforms or official website.
