UCL: Como Humble Man Utd in Another Night of Shame
Manchester United have suffered yet another disappointing defeat after being completely outplayed by Como in an emphatic 4-1 defeat on Matchday Three of the UEFA Champions League.
Manchester United have now gone 11 games with just one clean sheet since the start of the season. The Red Devils have also set another unfortunate record, becoming the first team in history to concede in the first two minutes of back-to-back major European matches, a record they will not be proud of.
First Half: Como had a fabulous first half, ending it with a 1-0 lead over Manchester United in their UEFA Champions League Matchday Three clash.
The Red Devils conceded in the second minute through Nico Paz’s brilliance, which helped Como take the lead in the first half of the tie.
Como controlled the game with 63% ball possession, ahead of Manchester United’s 37%. United had zero big chances, while Como converted their only big chance into a goal.
Second Half: Things continued to go badly for Manchester United, who were punished by resilient Como as the second half commenced. Como extended their lead four minutes into the half through Douvikas to make it 2-0. Nico Paz extended the lead to 3-0 in the 57th minute, completing a brace and assisting Douvikas’ goal.
The Italian side seemed not to be finished with scoring, cementing their victory with a fourth goal in the 76th minute from Ramon J.
Joshua Zirkzee helped Manchester United reduce the goal deficit by scoring in the late minutes, bringing the game to a 4-1 end in favour of Como, who feasted on the Red Devils on their own ground.
United controlled this half better, with 57% ball possession and one big chance created throughout the half.
Cesc Fabregas’ side moved to fifth place after winning two of their three games in the league phase, dropping Manchester United to 22nd place with just one win in three games.
