According to Macworld, leaked iPhone 18 Pro Max battery specs reveal 5,235 mAh for nano-SIM devices and 5,425 mAh for eSIM-only models.
These reported capacities represent huge 6.6-8.5% increases over the iPhone 17 Pro Max and would eclipse the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s projected 5,000 mAh battery.
This year’s Pro Max model will at least have something to brag about: one of the largest batteries ever to adorn an iPhone. However, it may not be considered the top of the iPhone range as of this autumn (that accolade will go to the foldable iPhone Ultra).

The iPhone 18 Pro Max will have a battery capacity of 5,235 mAh for the Nano SIM model and an incredible 5,425 mAh for the eSIM-only version, according to a social media leak this week. Compared to the 4,823 mAh and 5,088 mAh capacities of the iPhone 17 Pro Max versions, it represents increases of 8.5% and 6.6%, respectively.

Though not the largest we’ve seen, those are respectable year-over-year increases. In contrast to prior annual rises of up to 19 per cent, we learned last month that the iPhone 18 Pro will only increase by 1.5 per cent and 0.8 percent across the two versions.
However, these numbers would be amazing when compared to phones that are not part of the Apple bubble. Although Apple’s phones were previously criticised for having comparatively small batteries, 5,425 mAh would be comparable to the majority of competing models. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has a 5,000 mAh battery.
Over the past few generations, iPhone battery capacities have been continuously increasing. The estimated numbers are contrasted with those of the five earlier Pro Max models as follows:
iPhone 13 Pro Max: 4,352 mAh
iPhone 14 Pro Max: 4,323 mAh
iPhone 15 Pro Max: 4,441 mAh
iPhone 16 Pro Max: 4,685 mAh
iPhone 17 Pro Max: 4,823 mAh (Nano SIM), 5,088 mAh (eSIM only)
iPhone 18 Pro Max: 5,235 mAh (Nano SIM, claimed), 5,425 mAh (eSIM only, claimed)
The iPhone Ultra is expected to have a battery capacity of around 5,500mAh, and could go as high as 5,800 mAh. That would be really big and one of the largest ever—the Galaxy Z Fold 7, for example, only uses a 4,400mAh battery, and the latest iPad mini has a 5,078 mAh battery. But that’s why it’s going to be the flagship–and why it could cost as much as $2,500.
