Tolani Baj, a reality TV personality and disc jockey, has talked candidly about her time working in the US and the reasons behind her decision to go back to Nigeria.
Tolani said in a series of old Snapchat posts that she found the 9–5 work atmosphere difficult to adjust to and frequently looked forward to December, when she could return home.
She disclosed that she often considered leaving her employment in the United States to relocate to Nigeria, where she felt more content and comfortable.

“I hated working a 9-5 in America so bad. I would spend months counting down to Detty December, God Abeg. My everyday thoughts,” she wrote.
Tolani added that she was constantly torn between staying in the U.S. and moving back permanently, but Nigeria always felt like the better choice.

Tolanibaj, who was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States, said she, however, took the risk because it “felt right”.
The reality star relocated to Nigeria in December 2018 to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Her move paid off after she participated in the BBNaija ‘Lockdown’ edition in 2020.
Although she didn’t win the reality TV show, Tolanibaj returned to the competition in 2023 for the ‘All Stars’ edition. Unfortunately, she was evicted in the fifth week.
Reflecting on her decision to relocate, Tolanibaj expressed her gratitude to God for the timing of her move.
She acknowledged that the past six years have been interesting and that she couldn’t be happier with her decision.
“Honestly, one of the best choices I ever made in life was relocating to Nigeria. I’m grateful to God for the timing of my move,” she wrote.
“The thought of moving didn’t make complete sense to me at time but it just felt right & I took the risk. It’s been six interesting years and I couldn’t be happier.”
