Actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has refuted allegations that she disregarded Fuji musician Wasiu Pasuma during a public gathering, characterising a widely shared video as deceptive.
A social media user posted an altered video claiming that Akindele neglected to mention Pasuma during actress Fathia Balogun’s birthday celebration, sparking the dispute.
Pasuma was sitting close by as Akindele greeted Balogun in the video.

Akindele responded on X on Sunday, stating that she greeted and danced with Pasuma during the event.
“Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, and danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Pls you all should stop this,” she wrote.
A longer video from the occasion appears to counter the claim, showing Akindele standing close to Pasuma, engaging with him before moving on to other guests.

The clarification comes weeks after discussions following an incident at the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, where Akindele was alleged to have ignored fellow actress Toyin Abraham.
Nigerian actor Tobi Makinde has addressed the rumoured conflict with Funke Akindele.
After Funke, who is regarded in the film business as Tobi’s mother, did not show up for his wedding in December 2025, the news went viral.
However, Tobi asserted in a BBC interview that social media frequently produces narratives that are unfounded.
The actor clarified their present relationship status by saying that as people move through different stages of life, some connections seem to be lost.
He said in Pidgin “I’m not aware of any fallout between madam Funke and I. Nothing really happened. Our relationship did not start on social media and no be for social media e go end.
“As you grow and move from one level to another, some relationships may look like they are lost in transit”, he said.
Recall that the actor gained popularity after his appearance in Funke Akindele’s productions.
