For days, certain parts of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, have been without electricity.
In three different outage notifications posted on its X account on Thursday and Friday, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, or AEDC, affirmed this.
The disco attributed the blackout on a technical issue with the feeders that served the affected areas.
In a notification sent Friday, the AEDC said, “We regret to notify you that the ongoing power outage is due to a technical fault affecting the feeders serving these locations.”
Jabi District, Lifecamp, Kado District, Aire Gas, Total Marble, and other enterprises along Kaduna Road are among the places and businesses impacted.

Outages are also occurring in Idu, Citec Mbora, Karmo, EFAB Global Estate, Karmo, Woodfield Estate, Zulu Community, and other surrounding areas.
Additionally, similar power outages are occurring at Sokale Garden, Dutse Makaranta, Dutse Bokuma, Ushafa, Pegi, Gigo, Defence College Estate, Kogo, Zuma, Veritas University, Jamb Headquarters, Law School, Bwari, and surrounding areas.
The disco said that a technical issue with the 33 kV Bwari feeder that supplies electricity to Bwari and the surrounding areas was the main cause of the epileptic power supply.

“The ongoing power outage is due to a technical fault on the 33kV Bwari Feeder, which is affecting supply to these areas.
“The TCN technical team is working tirelessly to restore power as quickly as possible,” the Abuja disco disclosed.
Residents in the impacted areas have continued to complain about the effects of the outage, such as Benjamin Aina of Ushafa, who told The Intercept that his area has been without power for the past week and that “it is painful we haven’t had power supply for one week now. My food stored in the freezer is all spoilt.”
Musa Abdullahi of Jabu also bemoaned the outage, stating that he now spends more money on petrol to run his generator.
“We have not had power supply for over a week now. The situation is really impacting households and businesses in Jabu. I now spend more money to buy fuel. The AEDC and TCN need to fix this situation,” he stated.
