Fourteen primary suspects have been charged by the Kano Police Command with culpable homicide and associated offences in connection with the horrific murder of a Rano Divisional Police Officer that occurred late last week.
Among the other counts against them are criminal conspiracy, inciting disruption, criminal trespass, damage by fire, and inflicting great harm by stealing.
According to Command PPRO SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, 14 individuals have been accused in connection with the DPO’s murder. They are Yunusa Adamu, Sadiq Buhari, Abdulrashid Ibrahim, Bala Yusuf, Bala Mohammed, and Abdullahi Salisu Kere.

Others are Musa Minkaila, Mamuda Mohammed, Ismail Mamuda, Usman Shu’aibu, Musa Hassan Black, Abdulrashid Munkail, Umar Ado Nadada and Sabitu Abubakar, all of Rano LGA, Kano State.
He said, “Command is pleased to provide the following updates on the ongoing investigation into the unfortunate incident that resulted in the tragic death of CSP Baba Ali, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano Division, Kano, and damage to properties.
Kiyawa said following a thorough investigation, the Command arraigned a total of 29 suspects before Magistrate Court Number 20, Nomansland, Kano, in connection with the incident.
Additionally, 15 other suspects were charged with offences relating to the incident, including criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbance and mischief.
