Following a short illness, Mrs. Adizatu Dazumi, a 75-year-old Edo pilgrim, passed away during the ongoing 2025 Hajj trip in Saudi Arabia.
The deceased pilgrim died at the King Fahad General Hospital in Makkah on Monday. He was from Jattu Uzairue in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo.
The state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Chairman, Malam Musah Uduimoh, verified the occurrence on Tuesday.

He claims that Dazumi was brought to the hospital on Sunday after becoming unwell soon after completing Tawaaf, the circumambulation around the Kaaba.
The board chairman said the pilgrim, however, died the following day.
“In line with Islamic tradition, she was buried in Makkah on the same day she passed and her family in Jattu Uzairue had been duly informed of the development,” Uduimoh said.
